“Hi there, I am Alex. “
So this is it, the make-or-break moment; who is this Alex person, and why should I be interested in their blog?
The question is both easy, as well as difficult to offer an answer to. Additionally, there will be questions that I will answer at the end.

I am just your average middle-aged American writer, gamer, social influencer, spouse, parent, child, and friend. I am an employee, an animal lover, and a fair cook. I have even been called funny!
So here is where it gets a bit more complex. I am female, I am male. I am definitely not a man, but I also accept that I am not a woman by the strictest definition. All this caused me great pains and unhealthy amounts of stress for a very long time. I then learned that the things I described first were what truly mattered.
This made me feel better for a good while until the anxiety skewered me again. Sometimes life just likes to poke you with a stick.
So on to the questions!
“Were you born a man or a woman?”:
Strictly speaking, only one person has ever been born a full-on man… or woman for that matter. That person was of course Chuck Norris, who was born a man with a beard and the full nine yards. His mom was very surprised. Or so I heard…
“What do you have in your pants?”:
Nothing, nobody has surprised or scared me recently. Check back later.
“Does your driver’s license have an M or an F on it?”:
Not to avoid this question, but I always get a chuckle out of how much weight this has in our society. It’s not like if you are involved in an accident, they check… “Oh my God! His license has an M, but IT’s not there! Everyone look around! It must have fallen off!”
To answer the question though, I am currently 53 years old. I have had a lot of driver’s licenses over the years; some have had an M and others an F.
“What does it say on your birth certificate?”:
I went back to the hospital I was born at and asked the woman at the front desk if I could see my birth certificate as I wasn’t sure what gender I was. She just looked at me funny and called security.
In truth, my birth certificate does show me to be female because it was changed. Part of me regrets re-writing my history just to conform to more current events. I was born the way I was born, and there is no shame in that.
